Vladislav F. Ribnikar achieved third place in the first Serbian road cycling championship from Belgrade to Smederevo and back (92 km) on October 5, 1897. His brother, Darko, also had success abroad in Austria-Hungary. In Veliki Bečkerek (today’s Zrenjanin), he emerged as the winner on September 20, 1899, as well as on October 1 of the same year in Pančevo in the 2,000 and 4,000-meter races, and in tandem with Svetolik Savić in the 3,000. A year later, in September 1900, he triumphed.
